  The Biomedical Informatics Centre (BIC) at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research,Chandigarh was established in November, 2006. This is the one of the centers created by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Govt. of India.

Objectives of the centre:
  
  » To promote modern biology research in host institute and regional medical colleges.  
  » To increase awareness of recent developments in the in modern biology through workshops and training programs.  
  » To develop and support databases of specific clinical findings.  
  » To develop new methodologies and solutions for prevention and amelioration of diseases of national importance.
